Stacie Morrow-Stickrod, the daughter of an elderly couple allegedly assaulted by members of the Raleigh family in June, took to Facebook on Wednesday to express her concerns with the investigation’s progress.

“NONE OF THIS SITS RIGHT WITH ME!” Morrow-Stickrod said in the post. “I want someone held accountable, I want that apology to my family, I want something done.”

After a vehicle crash at Montgomery Inn’s Boathouse location on June 22, members of the Raleigh family allegedly assaulted members of the Morrow family, according to witness testimonies and a heavily-redacted police report. Morrow-Stickrod posted about the incident on social media on July 10 to raise awareness, saying her elderly mother suffered serious injuries in the alleged attack.

Morrow-Stickrod posted an over-3-minute video of the incident, which launched this story into the national spotlight. The video depicts a chaotic scene involving WCPO's chief meteorologist Steve Raleigh and members of his family. The shaky, often blurry video shows an argument between several individuals, resulting in frantic camera shots of men pushing each other. As the person filming regains balance, Morrow-Stickrod’s mother and father are both seen lying on the pavement, with blood visible next to her mother’s head.

Now, over a month later, no one has been arrested or charged with any crime in connection to the Morrow’s injuries.

Konrad Kircher, of Maineville-based Kircher Law, is representing the Morrow family. He previously told The Cincinnati Enquirer on July 17 that the family was “satisfied with the progress of the police investigation.”

However, Morrow-Stickrod expressed her disappointment with the investigation in her Facebook post yesterday.

“I just want to say this is 100% my opinion, I didn't find the lawyer for my brother and parents and I don't agree with the way its [sic] being handled,” Morrow-Stickrod said in the post. “[Kircher] said we are happy with the way the investigation is being handled, I DO NOT AGREE WITH THAT STATEMENT.”

Kircher told CityBeat in an email that he was aware of Morrow-Stickrod’s post, and that he is understanding of her frustration.

“[Morrow-Stickrod] indicates she is speaking only for herself, and that is true,” Kircher said. “She is understandably hurt and frustrated, watching her parents suffer. But the legal process takes time and my clients are willing to wait for justice.”

Morrow-Stickrod also said in her post that the Morrow family was told over a week ago that the investigation would be completed in a week, but that they’ve received “no phone calls saying what the delay is.”

According to Cincinnati Police Lt. Jonathan Cunningham, the investigation is ongoing and investigators are still working through interviews.

“Does the fact that these people are locally famous and have someone with high status involved that held the title of judge, attorney, sheriff play a role in things sitting still, I say more than likely!” Morrow-Stickrod said in her July 23 post.

Former Ohio State Representative Connie Pillich, the current Democratic contender for Hamilton County Prosecutor, issued a press release calling for an ethics investigation into Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers, a Republican.

“Lois and Doug Morrow were violently assaulted in broad daylight, and Prosecutor Melissa Powers has failed to bring charges against their assailant for nearly a month and counting," Pillich says in the release. “The alleged attacker has been identified in media reports as a grandson of [Simon] Leis, the former Republican prosecutor, judge, and sheriff with deep connections to the local Republican Party.”

Additionally, Morrow-Stickrod shared that her mother, Lois Morrow, was told on July 19 that she was showing signs of dementia. Studies have shown that head injuries can increase the risk of dementia or worsen existing dementia.

“We are so heartbroken and terrified,” Morrow-Stickrod said in the post.

Morrow-Stickrod believes Montgomery Inn “failed in making sure the staff and patrons of the restaurant are safe,” mentioning the lack of security footage and allegedly faulty cameras at the restaurant.

A manager at Montgomery Inn previously told CityBeat that the restaurant does not have security footage of the parking lot from the night of the incident because a camera maintained by CPD was not active during the incident.

CityBeat reached out to Morrow-Stickrod for comment but did not receive a response before publishing this story. CityBeat also did not hear back from lawyers representing the Raleigh family.
