    Montgomery announces upcoming road closures for “Pink Building” demolition

    MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Montgomery has announced planned road closures that will affect traffic on 3rd Avenue and Washington Street in the coming days.

    Contractors will begin demolishing the “Pink Building” at 340 3rd Avenue, necessitating the closure of nearby streets for safety reasons.

    Washington Street’s 300 block will be entirely closed to vehicle traffic during the demolition.

    Additionally, pedestrian access around the building may be restricted at times.

    Visitors to businesses in the affected area will need to park on 4th Avenue and walk to their destinations.

    The 300 and 400 blocks of 4th Avenue will remain partially open to local traffic only, with no through traffic allowed during certain periods.

    Pedestrian traffic will also be limited at times.

    The City apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures the public that contractors will work to minimize traffic disruptions while ensuring the safety of everyone in the vicinity.
