JONESBORO, Ark. (7/3/24) – Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced Wednesday the addition of veteran coach Cody Livingston to the Red Wolves' staff. Livingston spent three years working with pitchers at Nicholls, playing a significant role during their conference championship runs in 2023 and 2024. Under his leadership, the Colonels' pitching staff ranked inside the top-100 nationally in most statistical categories last season.
Largest business startup competition in the world coming to Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In August, a qualifier event for the largest start up competition in the world, called the Startup World Cup, will be right here in Northwest Arkansas. "The Startup World Cup is a worldwide competition put on by Pegasus Ventures out of California. They work with regional organizations across the world to host qualifying events where startups entrepreneurs have the opportunity to pitch locally. The winner from those competitions goes on to a grand finale in San Francisco," Caleb Talley, Executive Director of Startup Junkie, explained.

Little Rock man pleads guilty to federal firearms violation in Texas
BEAUMONT, Texas — A Little Rock, Arkansas, man has pleaded guilty to a federal firearms violation in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. Jajuan Lee Bonds, 23, pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christine L. Stetson on July 2, 2024. According to information presented in court, on July 21, 2022, an officer with the Corrigan Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Bonds. The officer observed what appeared to be marijuana in a clear plastic baggie in the vehicle. During a search, the officer located a firearm outfitted with a machine gun conversion device, commonly referred to as a “Glock Switch.” The modified handgun had been previously reported stolen.
