Truck-train collision southwest of Hope kills driver
A Hope truck driver died about 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 when the rig he was driving was struck by a Union Pacific freight train. According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Russell L. Neal, 42, was driving a 2023 model Mack truck. He turned off U.S. 67 onto Hempstead County 2. While attempting to cross the track, he was struck by a train at the county road crossing.

JONESBORO, Ark. (7/3/24) – Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced Wednesday the addition of veteran coach Cody Livingston to the Red Wolves' staff. Livingston spent three years working with pitchers at Nicholls, playing a significant role during their conference championship runs in 2023 and 2024. Under his leadership, the Colonels' pitching staff ranked inside the top-100 nationally in most statistical categories last season.
