Deadline nears to sign up for Riverfest Parade

MONTICELLO — The deadline is fast approaching for those looking to enter the 2024 Riverfest Parade.

The last day to register entries for the parade will be Thursday, June 27.

People can register online at https://shorturl.at/alEG1.

This year’s parade will kick off at noon on Sunday, July 14, rain or shine, and will depart from the American Legion, located at 304 Elm St. in Monticello. Lineup for the parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the legion.

The parade will be country western-themed, with participants urged to put on their cowboy boots and cowboy hats to join in the fun.

Local businesses, entertainment and nonprofits will cruise the streets of Monticello, handing out candies and goodies, in the annual event.

The cost to register a unit in the parade for a business is $180, while nonprofits are $25, politicians are $180 and Chamber of Commerce members are $80.
