Mountain bike race set at Bertram Sunday

MONTICELLO — Wright County Parks & Recreation is partnering with the Minnesota Mountain Bikes Race Series to host the first Bertram Saddle Buster from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park in Monticello.

This new race will provide a fun, exciting course for all levels of riders. The Bertram Lakes Singletrack has plenty of opportunities for new riders to find success and for experienced riders to find a challenge through its design.

The race will start and finish on the north side of the park. There is plenty of parking close to the start/finish line. There will be many vantage points to watch the races from different parts of the park. There will also be three food trucks on site: The Flaming Bowl, Kona Ice and Buddy’s Bowls and Burritos.

For those who wish to enjoy the park itself, there is a pool and splashpad for a $10 admission price and there is a free public beach to enjoy swimming in the lake.
