There are a couple of construction projects kicking into gear this week that could cause some major headaches according to WCCO Traffic Reporter Jerry Peterson.

    HIGHWAY 25

Drivers in the northwest metro need to be aware of work on Highway 25.

The river crossing in Monticello will be single lane starting July 8 in both directions through late October. Crews will be resurfacing and updating the bridge deck over the Mississippi River.

"This will definitely cause delays during the week and the weekend," Peterson says. "Consider the river crossings on (Highway) 101 in Elk River or Highway 24 in Clearwater as an alternate."

Hwy 25: July 8 through late October

Third St. in Monticello to east of Sherburne Co. Rd. 11/14 south west of Big Lake: One lane each direction, 24-7. Back-ups will occur at busy times.

    HIGHWAY 65

Early Tuesday morning, a very busy stretch of Highway 65 will be closed.

"That'll be both directions between 187th Lane and Viking Boulevard up in East Bethel," says Peterson. "Crews will be installing a new culvert system and weather permitting the road will reopen Wednesday, July 31st."

    Hwa 65: Tue, June 18 through 10 p.m. Sun, July 28

The road is reduced to one lane in both directions with head-to-head traffic between Bunker Lake Blvd. and 147th Ave. for replacement of the Coon Creek bridges. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Motorists can expect head-to-head traffic for installation of box culverts at Coon Creek bridges and in areas of full-depth pavement reconstruction. Single lane traffic on side of the road not under construction and lane closures along the project area.
