Arrests, sentencings, fire calls for July 18

Wright County Sheriff arrests:

• Joseph John Winkelman, 63, of Monticello was arrested in Monticello July 8 on a charge of third-degree DWI test refusal and two Wright County warrants for driving after license cancellation.

• Brandon Jeffrey Karlis Bergmanis, 45, of Minneapolis was arrested in Monticello July 9 on a charge of driving after license cancellation.

• Jasper Orlin Thompson, 31, of Big Lake was arrested in Sherburne County July 9 on a Wright County warrant for theft.

• Isaiah Michael Washburn, 46, of Big Lake was arrested in Monticello July 9 on a Wright County warrant for fifth-degree controlled substance.

• Traynor Dean Daniels, 26, of Monticello was arrested in Clearwater July 11 on charges of fifth-degree controlled substance and convicted felon in possession of a firearm/ammo.

• Joshua Michael Ronning, 30, of Monticello was arrested in Clearwater July 11 on a charge of fifth-degree controlled substance.

• Travis Paul Christ Padgett, 36, of Monticello was arrested in Monticello July 13 on charges of fifth-degree controlled substance and third-degree DWI.

• Frank Leslie Bowland Jr., 62, of St Cloud was arrested in Monticello July 14 on a charge of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Wright County Sheriff by the numbers:

From July 8-15, there were 32 property-damage accidents, seven personal-injury accidents, two hit-and-run accidents, two car-vs-deer accidents, seven DWI arrests, nine for underage consumption and 124 miscellaneous traffic violations reported.

Monticello Fire Department calls for service:

• Residential fire alarm on River Forest Drive at 6:08 p.m. July 1

• Residential fire alarm on Eagle Court at 6:37 p.m. July 1

• Motor vehicle accident on Chelsea Road and Highway 25 at 11:02 a.m. July 3

• Motor vehicle accident on Oak Ridge Drive North at 4:21 a.m. July 4

• Motor vehicle accident on Linn Street and Sixth Street West at 4:38 p.m. July 5

• Motor vehicle accident on Interstate 94 near mile marker 192 at 10:31 a.m. July 5

• Mutual aid to Big Lake at 11:17 p.m. July 5

DNR Conservation Officer’s Report:

• CO Trent Seamans (Big Lake) spent the week focusing on boat and water safety. Additional time was spent following up on various complaints related to the Sand Dunes State Forest. Several juveniles were responsible for driving off road, damaging the freshly graded forest road, litter, and illegal burning. Parents were contacted and enforcement action was taken.

• CO Adam Stennett (Annandale) attended training for most of the week. Enforcement actions taken included allowing juveniles to operate ATVs, allowing passengers to ride on seatbacks/decks of motorboats while underway, failure to display boat registration and failure to have the proper type and number of PFDs on board a boat.

• CO Brett Fox (St. Cloud) spent the week patrolling for ATV, angling, and watercraft activity. Fox gave a presentation on water safety and answered questions at the Kids Fishing Day at the Waite Park Fleet Farm. Fox also assisted Sherburne County with the search of a missing man in the Mississippi River. Violations this week include fishing without a license.
