    Off-duty officer rescues 2-year-old from Monticello pool, earns department honor An off-duty NYPD Auxiliary police officer is being lauded for his quick thinking and heroism after saving a 2-year-old child from drowning at a community pool in Monticello. Auxiliary Sergeant Delevikowitz was at the pool when he spotted the baby face-down in the water. He immediately sprang into action, performing CPR for approximately two minutes before the child was transported to the hospital. The child, who was released from the hospital, is now recovering. In recognition of his life-saving efforts, Delevikowitz received an "Award of Merit" from the NYPD. The New York City Police Department Auxiliary Police is a volunteer reserve police force. "
