County board sets 2025 preliminary draft budget, levy

During the Tuesday, Sept. 24 meeting of the Wright County Board of Commissioners, the board approved the 2025 preliminary draft budget and certified levy.

The budget was approved at $208,176,035. The levy (the amount paid through property taxes) was approved at $100,427,279. The levy figure represents a 5.71% increase.

The board also approved setting the annual Truth in Taxation public hearing for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.

The final budget and levy will be set at a board meeting in December.

It should be noted that the preliminary budget and levy can’t be increased after this date. It can only be decreased.
