Two dead in fiery crash on Route 54
Turbotville, Pa. — Two people died Friday in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Line Road and Route 54 in Limestone Township, according to the Montour County Coroner's Office. The coroner did not yet release the identities of the two people who were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash occurred at 2:40 p.m. June 28. The deceased individuals were in two separate trucks that were involved in the crash, according to Montour County Coroner Scott Lynn. Reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one of them caught on fire. Autopsies are scheduled for July 2 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Assisting at the scene was fire departments from Washingtonville, Watsontown, Mahoning Township, Liberty Township, Montour County Sheriff's Office, Montour County EMA, Milton PSP, Montoursville PSP, Public Utility Companies, and Haz Mat Teams for the fuel spilled from accident. Route 54 was closed for several hours as first responders worked at the scene. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
