Schedule restructured for Newfield Music Series
The eighth year of the Newfield Music Series at Mill Park kicked off with a postponement of its June 26 show with The Yardvarks. Then, the July 10 show that featured the Cast Iron Cowboys was postponed. The Yardvarks, who were moved to a July 17 show, were officially canceled and removed from the series due to scheduling conflicts.
Webb delivers $120,000 to Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Improvements are coming to The Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) in Ithaca. KTC is getting a DASNY grant for several infrastructure projects to enhance the space. Producing Artistic Director Emily Jackson credits State Senator Lea Webb, who encouraged KTC to seek funding in late 2023, and dropped the $120,000 check off in Ithaca on Monday, August 12, 2024.

IC Strength and Conditioning program earns accreditation
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – A concentration in Ithaca College’s Exercise Science degree program has received a rare distinction. IC’s Strength and Conditioning for Performance and Wellness curriculum was awarded full accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education. It makes IC just one of two schools in New York and 17 in the country to have an accredited undergraduate program. School officials credit the program’s adaptability to incorporate relevant educational experience.
