Building Risk Communication Skills Workshop Announced
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Gulf of Mexico Disaster Preparedness Response Center, Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and University of South Alabama Center of Disaster Healthcare Preparedness are hosting Building Risk Communication Skills on September 10 at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The location is the NOAA center at 7344 Zeigler Blvd. in Mobile. The workshop aims to motivate attendees toward action to reduce risk and help them develop new skills to better connect with diverse audiences. It will also allow attendees to practice their new skills, apply them to their own risk communication strategies and collaborate with peers on local risk communication challenges. The organizers said responses to questions during registration will help them customize the training to be reflective of local risk communication issues. The Admiral Hotel To Host Grand Reopening August 1
The newly renovated The Admiral Hotel at 251 Government Street in Downtown Mobile will hold an official grand reopening on August 1, Downtown Mobile Today reports. Originally opened in 1940, The boutique hotel reflects Mobile’s rich history, vibrant culture and lively atmosphere, and it is now owned and operated by Avocet Hospitality. With 156 guest rooms, an outdoor pool, extensive meeting spaces and an onsite restaurant, The Admiral Hotel has incorporated new furnishings that tie in bright purples, reds and golds, paying homage to the city’s Mardi Gras roots. Another new feature is Le Moyne’s Chophouse, which is slated to open August 19.
AAF Mobile Bay To Hold Forum On AI
American Advertising Federation (AAF) Mobile Bay is hosting an AI Forum panel discussion on August 28 at 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Innovation Portal in Mobile. The event gives attendees a chance to engage with a panel of local marketing professionals who are not only actively implementing AI in their lives, but are also passionate about navigating the world using AI. Panelists include Caleb Moore, production director, Good Giant; Josef Holloway, marketing manager, Gray Media; and Ashlie Anderson, brand manager, Blue Leopard. Attendance is free for AAF Mobile Bay Members and open to the public for $25.
