Flash flood warning affecting Mobile County until Friday night
On Friday at 5:57 p.m. a flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 9 p.m. for Mobile County. "At 5:57 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Intense rainfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour will quickly overwhelm drainage systems and flash flooding may begin rapidly," adds the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."

Sea Turtle's Nesting Attempt Deterred by Crowds on Alabama Beach
Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Last night, an Alabama beach became the scene of a disrupted nesting attempt by a sea turtle. The turtle, seeking to lay her eggs, was deterred by a crowd of onlookers and flashing lights. Unable to find a suitable nesting spot, the turtle returned to the water with her eggs.
