MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Police in Montville rescue an injured owl.

Officers responded Wednesday morning to a caller's report that they saw an apparently injured owl that wasn't able to fly away from the intersection of Route 163 and Chesterfield Road.

Police believe a vehicle struck the owl.

Responding officers transported the owl to the Freedom First Wildlife Rehab in Waterford.

The team at Freedom First will determine if the owl can make a full recovery. If so, they will release it back into the area where it was found.
