MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP HISTORIC PRESERVATION REVIEW COMMISSION (HPRC) meeting to be held at the Montville Township Municipal Building, 195 Change Bridge Road on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 7 p.m. AGENDA OPENING Reading of the Public Open Meetings Act "As required by the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice of this meeting has been provided with the specified the date, time, and place of the meeting to the extent known at that time. The notice was: - posted on the bulletin board in Town Hall, - published in the Daily Record newspaper, - advertised on the marquee at Town Hall, and - published on the Montville Township website. This information has been placed on file in the Township Clerk’s Office. This meeting has been properly noticed to the public in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act." Historic Property Review Team - 107 Changebridge, Cider Mill 2. Youngs Field designation for soccer field at camp Dawson 3. Update properties to list and follow-on project for existing listed – next steps – field work a. Discuss draft of letter to be sent to homeowners sometime in August. I.e. take updated pictures of house/property, what else? Timeframe discussion? Approach? OLD BUSINESS 1. Applications – None 2. 106 Review – Diversified Properties – phase 2 archeological study 3. Capstick Factory property tour with Langan Engineering - Official request to follow-up on tasks/reports that Langan was to perform during the remediation of the property – Meta b. Updating historical preservation rules. 8. 2024 Goals (keep monthly for updates and/or discussions) a. Updating underlying documentation supporting HPRC (Sept – Dec) b. Educating HPRC members in their HPRC roles (a Education ii above)(Sep – Oct) c. Updating potential historic sites for getting nominated for historic registers (Sept – Oct) d. Nominate at least one new additional property to historic registers (See Old Business #3 above) e. Working with Administration to educate on Historic compliance policies and procedures (TBD) – later in 2024 (Nov – Dec) f. Reviewing and ensuring compliance with CLG status requirements - Complete g. Completion of Updating existing Prehistoric sites - Complete h. Review and potentially update Historic Sections of the Master Plan Documents – Complete. Documents reviewed; no updates possible. Assembling updated historic registered listing i. Attending one of the state level historic conferences or other continuing education event. Complete – Meta and Eileen attended. j.
