America's First Federal Credit Union holds 2024 food drive til July 31
America’s First Federal Credit Union is in the middle of its 2024 Feeding Families Across Alabama food drive. The credit union is accepting canned goods, dried foods with a long shelf life and monetary donations at all branches, except the Mobile branch, through July 31. That includes the branches in Hoover at 3312 Old Columbiana Road and 2 Inverness Center Place, which are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays.

Gadsden State teams, athletes named to NJCAA All-Academic teams
Three Gadsden State athletic programs and a number of individual GSCC student-athletes were recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s All-Academic Team for 2023-44. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The criteria for the three NJCAA All-Academic teams are a 4.0 GPA for first team, a 3.80-3.99 GPA for second team and a 3.60-3.79 GPA for third team.

Warm 80s, humid and more showers/storms for Monday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Good Monday morning. Skies are mostly cloudy out the door with warm temperatures in the lower 70s and some areas of isolated but dense fog. Some breaks in the clouds will be expected though mid to late morning and high temperatures will warm into the middle/upper 80s with a light south breeze. It will feel incredibly humid through the day with all of that Gulf moisture fueling rounds of scattered downpours and thunderstorms. Showers and storms should begin to taper off around sunset with a few isolated showers and some thunder possible overnight, lows will fall around 70 degrees by daybreak Tuesday.
