Sandhills Quilters Guild Announces Upcoming Events
The Sandhills Quilters Guild will host a monthly sew-in day for the Quilts of Valor project on Monday, Aug. 5, from 12 to 4 p.m., at the Moore County Senior Enrichment Center, 8040 U.S. 15-501, in West End. Moore County gets new crosswalk technology
New crosswalk technology recently implemented in Moore County is aimed at helping pedestrians. The "High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk" or “HAWK” is located in Aberdeen on Sandhills Blvd. between Knight Street and West Maple Avenue. A joint investigation between the Moore County Sheriff’s Department and Moore County Probation and Parole resulted in four arrests. “On July 11, 2024, Moore County detectives, in collaboration with Moore County Probation and Parole, conducted searches at multiple residences throughout the county, leading to several arrests,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel.
