Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. has announced the grand opening of the inaugural Roll @ Santa Monica, a seasonal roller skating rink located in the heart of the beach community. This is the first time Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. will host such an event, marking a new addition to the district’s recreational offerings. Miramar project back on track with unanimous ARB recommendation
A renovation over a decade in the making is finally making serious headway through Santa Monica city government, giving new life to one of the area’s premier destinations. During Monday’s meeting of the city’s Architectural Review Board (ARB), a presentation was given on the mass renovations planned for the Miramar Hotel site at 1133 Ocean Avenue, a project with near-unanimous approval by the board and public commenters. The comprehensive expansion and modernization of the Miramar would add to the full-service hotel by adding up to 60 residential condominiums and associated common areas, restaurant and retail spaces, a three-level subterranean parking garage and significant publicly-accessible open space.
