2024 PSAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll: Women’s Cross Country
The Shippensburg University women’s cross country team has been ranked third in the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The poll, determined by the league’s coaches who are not permitted to vote for their own team, placed Slippery Rock first, as the reigning champions received eight first-place votes. Bloomsburg is ranked second with six votes, while Shippensburg received the remaining three first-place votes.
Lehigh Valley attorney accused of threatening investigator
An Easton attorney was accused Thursday of threatening an attorney from the Pennsylvania Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Attorney Ronnie Creazzo, 60, of Bushkill Township, sent a threatening email after an investigator from the disciplinary counsel’s office showed up at his home on June 21, according to a criminal complaint.

DOL goes after tip-pool violators for nearly $2M
Failure to comply with federal tip-pooling rules is costing two restaurants a bundle this week. La Tolteca and its owner, Carlos De Leon, were ordered by a federal court to pay $1.3 million to 55 workers who participated in a tip pool run by the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, restaurant. According to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), bartenders and servers were required to contribute a portion of their gratuities to the pool, as per the customary arrangement. But the restaurant didn’t follow the hands-off policy warranted by regulations. The money went first to the establishment rather than to some sort of kitty that couldn’t be drained by management.

PARSIPPANY, NJ - Davida Padi of Parsippany, a social media strategies major, was among The University of Scranton students in the Social Media Campaigns course taught by Brian Snee, Ph.D., associate professor of communication and media, who won third place in the Gift of Life 2024 Students Save Lives College Challenge. The annual competition invites organizations and clubs at universities and colleges across Gift of Life's region to help increase organ donor awareness and registration among students, faculty, and staff on campus.
