Jay Sawvel Calls Wyoming’s Rookie Linebacker ‘Chad Muma 2.0′
LAS VEGAS, Nev., -- Undersell and over deliver. So far, that's not a model Jay Sawvel has been following. Wyoming's rookie head coach isn't shy when it comes to promoting his players. Just last week in Las Vegas, Sawvel preached the gospel of Evan Svoboda. He believes in his junior quarterback despite the fact he has just one start under his belt. He likes incoming transfer linebacker Evan Eller, too. Same can be said for guys like TK King, DJ Jones and a whole host of unknowns.
Ashley Furniture store to open in Casper’s Eastridge Mall in August
CASPER, Wyo. — A vacant storefront once occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond will be home to a new Ashley Furniture store in Casper’s Eastridge Mall. The space has been empty since Bed Bath & Beyond closed in early 2023 shortly before the company was liquidated. A new major retailer opening in the Eastridge Mall is a bit of good news for the property after years of losing tenants due to changing trends and shopping habits that have affected indoor malls and retailers across the country.

Boys & Girls Club to mark 55 years with fundraiser pickup truck raffle
CASPER, Wyo. — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming is celebrating its 55th anniversary, and to mark the occasion it will be raffling off a restored pickup truck. The truck is a 1979 Ford F-250, donated to the club by supporter Kelly Wenzel and rebuilt by Legacy Classic Trucks. According to the Boys & Girls Club, the truck is valued at $170,000 following its restoration.

City of Lander Water Tank Project Update
This summer, a major construction project is underway just beyond the Mortimore Lane turn-off near Sinks Canyon. The City of Lander is replacing three failing drinking water storage tanks with a single, modern 4-million-gallon tank. This upgrade will enhance our total water storage capacity by an additional 1 million gallons. Furthermore, the project includes the replacement of an emergency pumping station near the hospital.

Casper, WY July 22nd, 2024 — Three Goshen County residents were recognized for their years of dedication to youth sports at the Wyoming Coaches Association/Wyoming Sports Officials Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Casper last week. Kathy Hamer-Smith was inducted into the Wyoming Sports Officials Association Hall of Fame, and Trisha Bates and Rick Cotant were inducted by the Wyoming Coaches Association.
