DEVASTATED: Colorado’s Fentanyl Disaster slated to show on June 29 at Cover 4 Theater
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Centennial Mental Health, Cover 4 Theater, Senator Byron Pelton, and Senator Richard Holtorf have partnered to bring a movie called “DEVASTATED: Colorado’s Fentanyl Disaster” by Steffan Tubbs to the Cover 4 Theatre at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. There is no admission fee for the movie. Fort Morgan Chief of Police Sharp said that although he has not yet seen the film, he understands that it is described as extremely powerful. As a result, crisis and addiction counselors will be on hand at the theater. “This is one of the positive steps we can take to address some of the issues our community is facing,” said Sharp.
13th Judicial District announces District Court vacancy
The Thirteenth Judicial District Nominating Commission will meet July 30 at the Morgan County Justice Center, located at 400 Warner St., Fort Morgan to interview and select nominees for appointment by the governor to the office of district judge for the Thirteenth Judicial District (Kit Carson, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties). The vacancy will be created by the retirement of the Honorable Charles M. Hobbs. The vacancy will occur on Oct. 2.
Brush Chamber of Commerce welcomes new State Farm agent
On Monday, the Brush Chamber of Commerce welcomed State Farm agent Dylan Hyland and his wife Hannah, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in their new office on Clayton Street. The couple moved to Morgan County from Denver when they adopted their two daughters from foster care. They were looking for a smaller and more personal community. Hannah worked at the Children’s Hospital, and Dylan, who was recruited by State Farm, moved to the area during the COVID-19 pandemic.
