Homicide investigation near Stover continues
STOVER, MO - The Sheriff in Morgan County says an investigation has been opened over the weekend in a homicide case. An autopsy conducted by the Greene County Medical Examiner reportedly showed the death of Beauford Wilson, 71, of Hallsville was caused by multiple gunshot wounds. His remains were found Sunday against a tree near Beechnut Road, south of Stover. Suspect information was not noted in the post.

The sheriff’s office reports they received a call on Sunday about an adult male found on his side against a tree near Beechnut Road just south of Stover. The man was identified as 71-year-old Beauford Wilson of Hallsville.

Cole Camp Couple Injured in Morgan County Crash
A Cole Camp couple were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday morning in Morgan County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2014 Ford F-150, driven by 78-year-old Victor W. Evans of Cole Camp, was on Route D, 322 feet north of Catnip Road around 10:15 a.m., when a northbound 2004 Chevy Silverado, driven by 49-year-old Nelson S. Weaver of Versailles, attempted to pass the Ford just as Evans had slowed down to make a left turn and the Ford was struck by the Chevy.
HWP Notes Two Arrests So Far For The Weekend
The highway patrol reports two arrests to jumpstart the weekend in the lake area…both alcohol-related. A 55-year-old Kansas City man was arrested around 9:45 Friday night for alleged boating while intoxicated in Morgan County and a 49-year-old man from LaBelle was arrested shortly after 2:00 this morning for driving while intoxicated in Camden County.
Versailles man sentenced to 10 years in prison for firing shots into a group of people
A Morgan County man arrested for firing a gun into a group of people is sentenced to prison. David Doolin, Jr., 44, of Versailles, had been scheduled for a jury trial to begin July 9. But on Monday he pleaded guilty to first-degree property damage, second-degree assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm. In exchange for his plea, charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action were dismissed.
Versailles man sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to drug and weapons charges
One of two people arrested during the serving of a no-bond felony warrant in Morgan County pleads guilty to drug and weapons charges. Trent Baldwin, 36, of Versailles, pleaded guilty Monday to possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to five years supervised probation on each count.
