Crowd turns out for regional career fair in Copperas Cove
Job seekers trailed in and out of the Civic Center in a steady stream taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the dozens of jobs available in our area. Copperas Cove’s EDC teamed up with the Texas Veterans Commission and Texas Workforce Solutions of Central Texas to offer their first Regional Career Fair at the Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of their HireCove program. There were 55 different employers who attended the event, offering plenty of variety.

Killeen police investigate seventh murder of the year
KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen Police are investigating the city's seventh murder of the year after a 17-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound. On July 15, 2024, at approximately 2:31 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Avenue I and discovered the victim inside a residence. Justice of the Peace Nicola James determined the estimated time of death at 4:19 p.m., according to a press release from the Killeen Police Department.
Christopher Norcross dies in Temple pedestrian accident
TEMPLE, TX, (July 17, 2024) - Christopher Norcross was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday in Temple. Norcross, 71, was hit at about 10:04 a.m. near 31st Street and Scott Boulevard. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
