Carmel middle school girls on wrestling team eager to see sport grow
Ana Penquite figures she will have more company from girls in the wrestling room in the future. “It’s a fun sport, and there are not a lot of girls at my school that do it,” said Penquite, who will be an eighth-grader at Clay Middle School in August. “When they hear about it, they are surprised.”
Top Notch 4 H Club holds July meeting
Top Notch 4-H Club met at the Birchwood Training Center on July 14th, 2024. At this meeting 20 members were in attendance. The upcoming Skillathon dates were discussed, as well as completing project books. Members were informed about the sale, buyer letters, and Jr. fairboard applications. Advisors also shared information about online entries for shows. The next meeting will be on August 13th at 6PM in the Swine Barn.
Big Ten Basketball: 2024 offseason grades for each team
At the very beginning of the offseason, the Hoosiers were lucky to even get a passing grade. 5-star commit Liam McNeeley left for UConn as a sign of potential trouble. The program was able to rebound by landing Bryson Tucker, a top-30 wing prospect who was a late addition after the G League Ignite Team shut down.

Indiana Man Apprehended Following High-Speed Chase Through Construction Zone
On Friday night, a man from Indiana was caught after a high-speed pursuit in DeKalb and Noble counties, which resulted in a patrol car crash and several felony charges. At around 9:30 p.m., Dusty E. Dawkins, 43, was pursued by the Indiana State Police after allegedly driving without tail lights. The chase started when a trooper tried to stop him on SR327 near Warfield Street in Garrett. Dawkins chose to ignore the trooper, sped off south on SR327, and disregarded the “road closed” sign on CR56 due to ongoing construction.
