Man killed in Monongalia County shooting

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man is dead after an early morning shooting that happened just outside of Morgantown Thursday.

A call for a shooting on Mountain Valley Drive came in at around 1:42 a.m., the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Responding deputies found a man with a gunshot wound; he was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries, the release said.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents of Mountain Valley Drive near the 9000 building who have information or video, or anyone else with information to contact them at 304-291-7260.

At this time, the sheriff’s office said no further information will be released.
