MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties Family Resource Network gave the gift of reading on Wednesday.

The United Way set up at the Champion Training Academy in Morgantown where it gave children free books as part of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library which allows kids from birth to the age of five to receive a free book each month.

Isaiah Jackson, an intern with the United Way explained the importance of getting children interested in books early on.

“I think that we believe starting at a younger age with their development, it will lead to them doing that in the future as well. So, improving the skillsets that they can create as a child will just help the future generation,” said Jackson.
