MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — On Wednesday, the Mountain Line Transit Authority discussed the Grey Line Trip Alignment and proposed changes to the route, including a potential new connection to Parkersburg.

The public hearing went over two changes that will be made to the Grey Line. The first of which is to route the bus to Mountaineer Station on return trips, which allows a rider who gets picked up at Mountaineer Station to be dropped back off at the same place.

The second change is to realign the Grey Line with Barons Bus, which has the “I Ride 79” service that recently began serving Parkersburg and Ellenboro. This new change will allow Grey Line to more easily connect with Barons Bus and its service to Parkersburg. However, this change will make buses arrive in Morgantown a bit later than they currently do.

“I think the connectivity, I think is important. We have worked very closely with Baron’s Bus over the years. It’s really been great working with them,” Mountain Line General Manager Maria Smith said. “He called me and said ‘hey, we’re going to make this change. Do you think you can help us out a little bit to make sure that the connection still happens?’ So they’re traveling over to Parkersburg, and then they’ll come across route 50 and then come north onto Morgantown, and I believe they stop in both Clarksburg and Fairmont.”

The Mountain Line Transit Authority is accepting feedback on the changes to the Grey Line. If you would like to share your opinions, you can visit ridegreyline.org until July 26. If adopted, the changes will go into effect on Aug. 1.
