Five Cornellians Join The 2024 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival
Lexi Woodcock/Cornell Athletics ITHACA, N.Y. - Five Cornellians will take the stage in the 2024 USA Hockey Women's National Festival, which will be held from August 4-11 in Lake Placid, N.Y. at the Olympic Center. The Festival will include 75 players who are currently either playing professionally or at the collegiate level. Grace Dwyer '25, Lily Delianedis '25, Rory Guilday '25, Annelies Bergmann '27, and Izzy Daniel '24 will represent the Big Red during the festival. DEC to offer mobility chairs for visitors with disabilities at Camp Santanoni beginning July 19
On July 10, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Interim Commissioner Sean Mahar announced the launch of a Mobility Device Reservation Pilot Program for qualified individuals with disabilities to reserve and use an electrically powered wheelchair device free of charge to access the Camp Santanoni Historic Area in Newcomb, Essex County. This pilot program offers a new option for people with disabilities and allows DEC to gather feedback from program users as part of efforts to advance a long-term and sustainable approach to improve access to this historic site. The pilot program will run on alternating weekends, Friday through Sunday, July 19 through Oct. 13, as well as holiday Mondays Sept. 2 and Oct. 14.

Update 6:14pm: Governor Hochul says she has deployed the NYS Police and other agencies to help in Oneida County. As the heat index rose and the potential for storms grew, a tornado has been confirmed in Rome, NY - just north of Utica. Photos from the scene show a church with its roof and steeple torn off, numerous downed trees and power lines, overturned vehicles - even a B-52 bomber on display at the Air Force base was moved by the strong winds.
Barton Mines inducted into state's Historic Business Preservation Registry
