Covered Bridge Exhibit now showing at the Brandon Museum
During the month of July, The Brandon Museum, in conjunction with the Vermont Covered Bridge Society (VCBS), is showcasing a Covered Bridge exhibit. On Saturday, July 13, VCBS Education Chair Jeanne Beaudry and her husband, Marcel Beaudry, gave presentations on Vermont Covered Bridges. Jeanne, a retired schoolteacher that taught kindergarten through 6th grade, discussed some of her time educating students and children with special needs about covered bridges. Jeanne and Marcel have held workshops where they have helped children build models of covered bridges. Marcel reflected on his memories of the Lord’s Creek Covered Bridge, of which he built a small scale model that is on display at the museum. About 28 guests were in attendance for the presentations. After the presentations, everyone was invited to explore the exhibit.

Tornado touches down in Lyme, New Hampshire, toppling trees
LYME, N.H. (WCAX) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in New Hampshire Tuesday night. They say it was an EF-1 that hit the town of Lyme. SKANEATELES — Rome’s Lauren Cupp turned in another top finish at the New York State Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship. Cupp, playing as a member of Yahnundasis Golf Club, finished as co-runner-up of the 15th state Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship in the two-day (Tuesday and Wednesday), 36-hole event at Skaneateles Country Club.

Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. – FAIR HAVEN – Blue Jay Way will perform in Fair Haven for the Concerts in the Park series beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. This rock and roll cover band will play popular music from the ’60’s through today’s hits. Concert goers will enjoy this great group made up of musicians that have been playing together for many years. The band began in 1974 when two Castleton State College freshmen got together to play. The band has now been together for five decades.
