Daily afternoon rain and storm chances continue
Good evening, Heartland, we are tracking a few isolated thunderstorms this evening. The main hazards of these storms are lightning and brief heavy downpours that could cause some flash flooding concerns. However, a majority of people will remain dry this evening. As we lose the daytime heating, we will start to see drier conditions later tonight. Wednesday morning will be mostly cloudy, with lows in the low 70s. As we head into the afternoon, the daytime heating will help bring back the afternoon showers and storms across the Heartland, a very similar set up to today. Highs will be in the upper 80s. This pattern of dry mornings with showers and isolated storms in the afternoon continues through the end of the week.

Chance for showers and storms
Good afternoon, watch for scattered showers and storm development through the late afternoon. Peak heating hours will be the driving force for the storms to initiate. Daily isolated rain chances are in the forecast for the next few days, although most of us will not see rain every day. Temperatures will remain slightly cooler than average with highs in the mid-80s through the rest of the work week. Still expect those dew points in the upper 60s and low 70s making it feel sticky outdoors.

The Royals were absolutely livid after the D-backs hit Bobby Witt Jr. while a single shy of the cycle
The Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks couldn’t be further from rivals. They’ve only met 34 times in their history. But you’d never realize that after seeing how Monday night’s game went between the two teams. Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is having himself a breakout season, and he put on a show against the D-backs pitching staff in the series opener. Witt tripled, double and homered in his first three at-bats. So, when he came to the plate in the sixth inning a single away from the cycle, the entire crowd at Kauffman Stadium was on their feet. Canadian Wildfire smoke in St. Louis skies
ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) - Canadian Wildfire smoke is in our skies, but it’s not too thick, and it’s not expected to cause air quality issues at the surface. The “Total” smoke includes smoke aloft and not just at the surface. That is why there is a haze in the air, and there will be again on Wednesday. However, that haze likely has some contribution from humidity trapping some pollution, as our air has been rather still, which allows pollutants to build up.

Browns Bust Could Revive Career With Chargers, Chiefs
Wide receiver David Bell has not panned out for the Cleveland Browns, and the team could cut him as he enters his third year in the league. As the first offensive player selected in the Deshaun Watson Era, Cleveland’s front office believed that Bell’s skillset complemented Watson’s style of play and that these two could take the league by storm. Instead, both Watson and Bell have failed to justify the organization’s confidence. Since entering the league, Bell has recorded just 38 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns on 58 targets.
A New Lifestyle at a Riverside Campground
Sheila Cook and her husband, James, purchased Gasconade Hills Resort in Richland, Missouri, in 2021. “My husband served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years before he retired. We lived in California, and I worked in the public sector in health care. When he retired, he also worked in health care. We both did that for about 10 years or so,” Sheila says. “After COVID, we decided to sell everything and buy a campground. So, that’s what we did. We moved to Missouri in 2021.”
