Proposed Morrison Hotel Would Have a Coffee Shop

The picturesque, tiny town of Morrison is not one that sees much transformation. But if a new proposal for a small hotel with a coffee shop and rooftop is approved, that could all change, a Business Den article states.

Two partners — Chad Wallace and Zeke Freeman of Root Architecture and Development — are seeking permission from the city’s Board of Trustees to construct a three-story, 21-room boutique inn at 203-205 Bear Creek Ave. A $1.2 million contract for the site is pending based on the approval of plans.

There have been difficulties with the project: the town of 400’s residents are weary of the business being built. In February the planning commission denied plans, but the firm sent in an appeal letter, which was approved. Final decisions will come next month.

While plans about the coffee shop, which is to be on the ground floor of the property, are scarce, Wallace has a storied history in the java world. He has owned a 350-acre coffee farm and company in the Dominican Republic called Spirit Mountain Coffee for over 20 years.
