When Michael Lehmann reported his story of a UFO encounter in the area of Colorado's iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre to the National UFO Reporting Center, he didn't know it would go viral a few weeks later. But once the news of the report broke , the tale of the sighting quickly got picked up by numerous media sources around the country.

In short, Lehmann and about a dozen coworkers were working at the Morrison-area Red Rocks Amphitheatre in the early morning hours of June 5 following an event headlined by All Time Low when they spotted a massive unknown object estimated to be several hundred feet long in the night sky. After being present for about 30 seconds, the object described as metallic in nature and with three levels of windows seemed to vanish in thin air.

In conversation with Lehmann about the encounter, he provided details that are sure to answer some of the questions people might have about the incident.

Before digging in, it's worth noting that Lehmann described himself as a "hopeful skeptic" when it came to UFOs – someone who always wanted to 'believe' but found it difficult without personal proof.

    That is, until June 5.

According to Lehmann, a lack of moonlight in the night sky made it easier to spot the object as it hovered over a hogback ridge about a mile north of the iconic venue. Given its matte black and metallic nature, however, it still "blended in with the sky pretty well."

As soon as the object was noticed, more of Lehmann's coworkers started to spot the same object as they loaded expensive audio and lighting equipment into a semi truck near the venue's Trading Post building. Soon, the group stood in awe. That is, until one of the coworkers pulled out a flashlight and shined it in direction of the apparent craft, at which point the craft seemed to become invisible, as if it was using some sort of "cloaking device."

According to Lehmann, a lot of people have asked why no one in the group snagged a photo. His response was simple – they all had their hands full working and by the time those witnessing the sight started to comprehend what they were seeing, the craft was already gone.

Since the sighting, the coworkers have continued to discuss the hard-to-believe encounter, seeming to come to the consensus that they did indeed see something odd in the night sky.

Lehmann noted that he wasn't sure whether or not he thinks the odd object in the sky was military or alien or otherwise, but he is sure he saw something. Lehmann also hopes that him talking about the encounter publicly will help break a stigma around reporting odd sightings in the sky, also noting that since he's come public with his story, a large number of friends have had their own similar stories to share.
