    Morrison County Board of Commissioners Briefs

    In other business Tuesday, April 9, the Morrison County Board of Commissioners:

    • Approved Alice Sunde’s reappointment to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority committee from May 1 through April 30, 2029, a five-year term, in District 1;

    • Approved changes to authorized access for Morrison County’s account at MidMinnesota Federal Credit Union, removing former Deputy Auditor/Treasurer Debbie Symanietz and adding Auditor/Treasurer Shannon Coyle and current Deputy Auditor/Treasurer Breanna Mikkelsen;

    • Approved updating the Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union contracts;

    • Approved a temporary on-sale liquor license for Harding Sportsman’s Club for the Harding Rodeo event July 5 and 6 at 23552 295th Ave. in Pierz. Sheriff Shawn Larsen is aware of the event and has no concerns;

    • Approved two new Food, Pool and Lodging licenses for Sycamore Lake Home and Route 26 Bar & Grill;

    • Approved the allocation of up to $449,960 of lost revenue funds (American Rescue Plan Act funds) toward the upgrade of the county’s tax system due to the current system reaching its end-of-life cycle;

    • Approved agreements between Morrison County and the cities of Motley, Pierz and Royalton for Axon police body and car cameras, running from April 1 to May 1, 2031. There is no cost for 2024, but in all future years until the end of the contract, Motley will pay $4,298.15 year year, Pierz will pay $5,683.06 per year and Royalton will pay $7,139.94 per year;

    • Approved a resolution to submit an application to Sourcewell for its community match funds to build automation on Morrison County’s public facing website;

    • Approved a resolution to submit an application to Sourcewell for the community impact fund to improve Morrison County’s hybrid meeting capabilities throughout the county building.;

    • Approved the interim use permit (IUP) for Joseph and Ashley McCormick to operate a home extended business, specifically a boutique within a shed located in Section 24 of Buckman Township on the condition that the IUP shall sunset when Joseph and Ashley McCormick no longer own the property; and

    • Awarded $178,790.78 to the sole bidder, Sir Lines-A-Lot, LLC, for contract 2401, a 2024 pavement marking project, for various County and County State Aid Highways throughout Morrison County.

    The next Morrison County Board of Commissioners meeting is a planning session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, in the Board Room at the Morrison County Government Center.
