    Pierz City Council Briefs

    In other business Monday, May 13, the Pierz City Council:

    • Approved a concrete permit for Scott Herold and an application for a lot split/merge for Jean Litke;

    • Approved an exempt permit for St. Joseph Church for Sunday, Aug. 4;

    • Approved a bond sale resolution, issuing and selling $2.79 million in bonds;

    • Approved a tax abatement resolution for 94 properties within the City of Pierz;

    • Approved a cost share agreement between the City of Pierz and the Rich Prairie Sewer and Water District for 2024 street and utility improvements;

    • Donated use of a shelter for the Pierz Legion group on Wed., July 10;

    • Donated use of a shelter for the Pierz Healy High school on Friday, May 9, 2025;

    • Allocated $750 from the 2024 Pierz donations fund to the Pierz Clubhouse to give out donations for the rest of the year;

    • Hired a new Pierz Golf Course employee to work 20 to 40 hours per week at a starting rate of $12 per hour and potentially receiving a pay raise of up to $13.25 per hour, depending on performance; and

    • Approved a contract for the line striping of Main Street for $7,000.

    The next meeting of the Pierz City Council is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 in City Hall’s Council Chambers.
