    Flyers girls upset St. John's Prep

    The Little Falls upset St. John’s Prep 3-1 at St. Benedict’s University the Tuesday, Sept. 23.

    Both teams were scoreless in the first half. The Flyers made their first goal in the six minutes into the second half by Issy Czech, from a pass by Richelle Thompson. At the 53-minute mark, Thompson made another assist, but this time, to help Desiree Kuhl score.

    Czech returned a favor, making an assist to allow Thompson to score with five minutes left. Flyers goalie, Kylin Anderson made three saves on four shots on goal. As a team, the Flyers made 13 shots on goal.

    Zimmerman 6, Little Falls 1

    The Flyers hosted Zimmermam Monday, Sept. 23, losing 1-6. The Flyers’ opponent proved to be a dominating force, firing 12 shots on goal in the first half and scoring two goals.

    Thompson was taken down in the box at the 27-minute mark, allowing Ellyse Freudenrich to score a goal off a penalty kick. Zimmerman capped off its score with three more goals later in the half. Anderson made 20 total saves in the game and the Flyers made two shots on goal.

    The Flyers hosted St. Cloud Cathedral Thursday, Sept. 26. They will travel to take on Albany Tuesday, Oct. 1.
