Motorists face significant road closures and lane restrictions across several major routes in Morris County today.

MORRISTOWN, NJ - As of this morning, numerous construction projects and an incident involving downed wires are causing traffic disruptions across Morris County, affecting key roadways and potentially delaying local commutes. Here's a rundown of the current road conditions:

    Downed Wires:

US 46 has all lanes closed in both directions east of I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, reported at 8:57 AM. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

    Traffic Congestion:

Despite the disturbances, I-80 local lanes westbound from east of Exit 47A - I-280 to west of Exit 45 - CR 637/Beverwyck Rd in Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp are experiencing less than a 5-minute delay as of 7:55 AM.

    Construction Updates:

US 46: Multiple segments along US 46 are undergoing construction. Lane and shoulder closures are in place from Montville Township to Denville Township, with expected clearances by 3:00 PM in most areas, except for an extension until 8:00 PM east of NJ 15 in Dover.

I-80: Construction activity is noted on I-80 in both eastbound and westbound directions, particularly affecting areas near Exits 34 and 47A. Lane and shoulder closures will persist until early afternoon.

NJ 15 and NJ 53: Both highways are seeing less invasive construction, with minor lane closures and all lanes reported open along NJ 53 from Morris Plains to Denville Twp until 3:00 PM.

Residents and travelers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and allow extra travel time. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
