Motorists Advised to Plan Alternate Routes Due to Multiple Lane Closures on Key Highways

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. - As of this morning, several construction projects are impacting major roads across Morris County, with lane closures set to disrupt traffic flow through the afternoon. Commuters should expect significant delays and consider alternative routes where possible.

    Key Construction Updates:

NJ Route 10: As of 10:14 AM, construction on NJ 10 in both directions near Mount Pleasant Turnpike in Denville Township has closed one right lane, continuing until 6:00 PM.

Interstate 287: Ongoing work on I-287 northbound near Exit 33 (Harter Rd/US 202) in Harding Township has led to the closure of the right lane until 2:00 PM. Additionally, on I-287 southbound just south of Exit 41 (I-80) in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, the left lane is closed, also until 2:00 PM.

NJ Route 23: Construction activities from 9:00 AM have resulted in one right lane closure on NJ 23 in both directions, stretching from Maple Lake Road in Butler to north of Paterson Hamburg Turnpike in West Milford Township, until 3:00 PM.

US Route 46: Multiple sections of US 46 are under construction:

    • Near CR 618/Mountain Lakes Boulevard in Mountain Lakes, the right shoulder is closed until 3:00 PM.
    • East of NJ 53 in Denville Township, with the right shoulder also closed until 3:00 PM.
    • At CR 654/Cherry Hill Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, one right lane and shoulder are closed until 3:00 PM.
    • Eastbound lanes from west of CR 637/Beverwyck Road to New Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township are seeing one left lane and shoulder closure, scheduled to end at 3:30 PM.

These construction projects are part of ongoing improvements and maintenance efforts on key transportation routes in the region. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, adhere to posted signs, and allow extra travel time due to expected delays.
