Local Drivers Face Delays and Lane Closures Due to Construction and a Signal Issue

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. - As of this morning, drivers in Morris County are experiencing multiple disruptions along US 46 and other major roads due to ongoing construction and a downed traffic signal. The most significant of these incidents occurred on US 46 eastbound at NJ 53 in Denville Township, where a traffic signal failure resulted in the closure of all lanes as reported at 11:57 am.

Additionally, heavy traffic has been reported on US 46 eastbound from just east of I-80 to NJ 53 in Denville Township. Despite the congestion, the current travel time is under five minutes as of 11:43 am.

    Construction projects are widespread:

In Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, the westbound ramp from US 46 to I-80 is partly closed with one left lane blocked until 3:00 PM today.

On US 46 eastbound near Main St in Roxbury Township and from west of CR 618/Mountain Lakes Blvd to east of CR 654/Cherry Hill Rd in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, one right lane and shoulder are closed until 3:00 PM.

NJ 23 in Pequannock Township also sees one right lane and shoulder closures north of CR 680/Jackson Ave until 4:00 PM.

In Montville Township, one right lane on US 46 near CR 621/Hook Mountain Rd will be closed until 3:00 PM.

On NJ 15, from north of US 46 in Dover to south of Blue Heron Dr in Sparta Township, construction is ongoing but all lanes remain open until 3:00 PM.

Residents and commuters are advised to allow extra travel time and seek alternative routes where possible. These ongoing construction efforts are part of infrastructure improvements but require patience and caution from all road users.
