Investigation reveals the presence of contaminants in "Green Joy" cannabis flower, prompting immediate recall.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Green Medicine NJ, a cannabis cultivator, has issued an immediate recall of certain cannabis flower products sold under the tradename "Green Joy." This action follows a complaint and subsequent investigation by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC), which revealed violations of the state's safety and sanitation regulations for cannabis products.

The NJ-CRC investigation, initiated on July 18, 2024, tested 15 samples from a single dispensary. Out of these, 12 packages contained insects, and one package appeared to contain human hair. The affected products were found to be in violation of N.J.A.C. 17:30-16.1 (b), which mandates that cannabis items must be well-cured, and free of seeds, stems, dirt, debris, mold, rot, and other contaminants.

The affected products include flower and pre-rolls sold in jars and boxes of various sizes.
