Joseph Guzman, 44, sentenced for sexually assaulting a minor under his supervision, will serve 3 years in state prison and face lifetime parole supervision.

MORRISTOWN, NJ - Joseph Guzman, a 44-year-old resident of Mount Olive, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison on August 16, 2024, after pleading guilty to third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The sentencing was handed down by the Honorable Claudia Jones, J.S.C.

Guzman’s charges stem from a November 2022 investigation by the Mount Olive Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation revealed that on August 10, 2022, Guzman, who was an employer and supervisor at Joseph Vincent’s Salon in Mount Olive, sexually assaulted a 16-year-old female employee.

In addition to his prison sentence, Guzman is required to register under Megan’s Law and will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life. He is also prohibited from contacting the victim or the victim’s family.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll acknowledged the efforts of the Mount Olive Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit for their role in the successful prosecution of the case.
