Morristown, NJ – Over 290,000 in scholarships have been awarded to 27 Morristown High School seniors to support their academic pursuits, announced the Morris Educational Foundation (MEF). The MEF, a non-profit organization enhancing excellence in education in the Morris School District for over 31 years, honored the deserving students during the high school’s scholarship award night on June 11.

The twenty-seven students received scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. This year, two students received full-ride scholarships to attend Rutgers University thanks to the generous Steinberg Family (Robert Steinberg – Class of 1969, Julian Steinberg – Class of 1973, and Andy Steinberg – Class of 1975) who funded two Judy and Eliot Steinberg Scholarships in honor of their parents.

MEF scholarships are funded by donors who choose to invest in the future of Morris School District students by creating a named scholarship.  Many scholarship donors are alumni who want to celebrate their experience at Morristown High School and others choose to honor a family member. Several MEF scholarships were established as a part of bequests. Thanks to alumni, individuals, families and local organizations, the MEF provides support to ease the financial burden of students while they achieve their dreams in college and beyond.

“Each June, we are honored to award scholarships to outstanding Morristown High School seniors,” said Molly Servais, Morris Educational Foundation Scholarship chair and member of the Morris Educational Foundation Board of Trustees. “We have many incredibly accomplished applicants and the process is very competitive. Our scholarship recipients have excelled at Morristown High School and demonstrated determination to succeed. It is inspiring to help them pursue the next chapter of their academic careers through the continued generosity of our amazing scholarship donors.”
