MORRISTOWN — The National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee, has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee, and southwest Virginia.

Widespread thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening. Some of these storms may become strong to severe, with the potential for damaging winds. In addition, slow-moving storms could result in localized flash flooding.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed about the latest weather conditions and be prepared for rapidly changing weather. Monitor local news and weather channels for updates, and exercise caution if traveling during storm conditions.
