A 20-year-old Morrisville man is facing multiple felony charges after police allege he drove a car at four men who allegedly assaulted him and his brother in a fight that started over the man’s driving skills.

Adam Wiley was arraigned July 24 on eight felony counts of aggravated assault and 13 related misdemeanor offenses in connection with the July 15 incident. He is free on unsecured bail.

Falls police allege that Wiley was driving four friends home from a party in Levittown when one of the men, Bryson Romanek, 18, of Morrisville, started choking Wiley's brother, who was also in the car.

After Wiley pulled over into the parking lot of a Falls apartment complex in the 900 block of West Trenton Avenue, Romanek and the three other unidentified males started pulling his brother out of the vehicle and beat him up, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Wiley got out of the car and attempted to stop the fight, when the four males turned on him and started punching and kicking him as he was on the ground, the affidavit said. The four ran off when Wiley allegedly threatened to run them over.

When Wiley got back into his vehicle he saw the four men in the front courtyard area of the complex, the affidavit said.

Angry over getting beat up, Wiley said that he drove his car onto the grass toward the males in an attempt to “scare” them, the affidavit said. The men ran away and Wiley went home, he said.

When police interviewed Romanek about the incident, he allegedly admitted to starting the fight when he made a comment about Wiley driving recklessly which led to a verbal argument.

Falls police have charged Romanek with two counts each of misdemeanor simple assault and disorderly conduct and related summary offenses, according to the court docket.

After Wiley’s brother inserted himself in the argument, Romanek allegedly said if they have an issue they should “fight about it,” before putting Wiley’s brother in a chokehold for a few seconds, then letting him go, according to the affidavit.

That is when Wiley drove into the apartment complex, he said.

Romanek told police that Wiley attempted to run them over, revving his engine before driving over the curb and onto the grass. He and the others ran, and he said at one point the vehicle was 10-feet from him and he feared he’d be run over, the affidavit said.
