Lonerock 'mere inches' from devastation from Lone Rock Fire; 2 more counties issue evacuations
The Lone Rock Fire in Gilliam County moved into Morrow and Wheeler Counties Monday, prompting more evacuations alerts. The last official estimate was 20,000 acres burned. Central Oregon Fire Info reports firefighters from Bureau of Land Management-Prineville, Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office worked to protect the community of Lonerock.
