BMCC Receives Generous Grant from Wildhorse Foundation to Enhance Digital Literacy in Rural Communities
Pendleton, OR – Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC) is thrilled to announce the receipt of a $15,769 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation. This generous funding will enable BMCC to purchase a mobile computer lab, consisting of 16 laptops, which will be utilized across our centers in Umatilla and Morrow Counties, as well as Union County through an out-of-district contract.

The Lone Rock Fire in Gilliam County moved into Morrow and Wheeler Counties Monday, prompting more evacuations alerts. The last official estimate was 20,000 acres burned. Central Oregon Fire Info reports firefighters from Bureau of Land Management-Prineville, Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office worked to protect the community of Lonerock.

La Grande, OR—Fire managers are increasing the public use restrictions to Extreme (red), as well as implementing additional restrictions for industrial forest operations on lands protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry in Northeast Oregon. The additional restrictions will be in effect at 12:01 a.m. on July 16, 2024.
