The Fort Lincoln Trolley, on Third Street Southeast, reopened over the Memorial Day weekend after being closed for the past two years. A large section of the track on the north end, washed out due to high water during the spring of 1997, had to be rebuilt with almost 1,500 tons of rock. In the state park, a side hill collapsed nearly 10 feet, closing the north entrance to the park. At that spot, a quarter mile of track was removed, the roadbed rebuilt, and tracks re-laid. “It’s nice to be back to a normal schedule,” said owner Jim Beck.
