Illinois cinema fans are excited to celebrate one of the most famous movies ever filmed in our state. One of my favorite movies of all time was filmed right here in Illinois. It's the "Blues Brothers." My dad introduced it to me when I was younger and we watched it all the time. So much so, that my mom recorded over a copy we had on a VHS tape.
Annual remembrance ceremony honors fallen first responders
At 10:54 a.m. on July 22, a solemn bell tolled at Firefighter’s Park, marking the time and date that Evanston firefighter/paramedic Marty Leoni made the ultimate sacrifice while searching for an infant in a house fire. A moment of silence followed the bell during the remembrance ceremony held Monday morning.
