    Wildfire evacuations for McConihe area canceled

    GRANT COUNTY, Wash. -- All wildfire evacuations the McConihe area, north of Moses Lake, were canceled on Thursday evening, according to Grant County Sheriff's Office.

    Around 5:50 p.m. on June 27, all Level 1 evacuation orders (Stay Alert) for the McConihe area fire were canceled.

    The fire began burning around 4 p.m. and prompted Level 3 evacuation order (Get out Now). They were later downgraded to Level 1 (Stay Alert).

    The order was in place for the area of Neppel Road from Road E-NE to the 8000 block of Neppel, near the Grant County International Airport.

    Around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, GCSO said the fire was "under control" and in "mop up."

    1-2 outposts were lost, but no homes were damaged.

    The McConihe wildfire is burning on 100 acres of grass and sage.
