Oregon Parks and Recreation seeks public comment for camping rate range increases
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is considering rate range increases for camping and facility fees for the public and is seeking comment on the proposed changes. The rate increases are necessary due to increased utility costs, operations, maintenance needs and inflation, OPRD said in a news release. The rate range increases would not increase fees automatically. The range gives flexibility to adjust the fees within the range over time and avoids large increases all at once, OPRD said.
Junior Hawks finish inaugural baseball season 15-5
The Dalles Junior Baseball Association (TDJBA), also known as the “Junior Hawks”, finished its inaugural season with a 15-5 record in 2024. The youth baseball organization included players in second through sixth grade from The Dalles, Dufur and Sherman school districts. The family of a Tigard man killed in a 2022 road-rage shooting is suing the man convicted of his murder. Brandy Goldsbury is suing Justin McAnulty for killing Dennis Anderson, her partner of 18 years, in a road-rage encounter on a highway near the Oregon coast. Goldsbury is seeking $37.5 million, according to the lawsuit, which was filed July 9 in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Power gets shut off in Huntington as Durkee Fire causes concern
